The day begins with registration and a continental breakfast and followed by Keynote Speaker, Tracy Bertog, CEO & Founder of Bertog Landscape Co. Bertog Landscape Co. is an award-winning North Shore firm located in Wheeling, IL.
The theme for this year’s conference is Safety & Compliance. Gary Smith, Manager of Citizens Management Insurance Loss Control will speak to both owners and employees about controlling loss in the workplace as well as personal workplace safety. Next, Ron Edwards with the Michigan Center for Truck Safety will provide an MDOT update. Ron is the Safety Director for the Michigan Center for Truck Safety. And, he is a Certified Director of Safety and a leading expert on truck safety regulations. Ron has been with the Center since 1990 providing workshops and seminars. Mr. Edwards also provides on-site safety evaluation and training programs for motor carriers and drivers.
Individual tracks might include topics like Spring Turf Practices, 2 & 4-Cycle Maintenance, Landscape Lighting and Retaining Wall Construction.
Finally, we will break into Round Table discussions. Discussions will include both owners & employees.
As we did in 2009, we are keeping the cost of registration down to encourage as many employees as possible to attend, thus driving more visitors to our Vendor booths.
For SWMLA members, registration is $40 for the first 3 attendees from a firm and $20 for each additional attendee from that firm. Non-members are $50 for the first 3 attendees and $25 for each additional attendee from that firm.
